Sweet Vanilla Custard Topping (Print Version)

# Ingredients:

01 - 1 tbsp pure vanilla extract
02 - ⅔ cup cold milk
03 - ½ cup full-fat whipping cream
04 - 1 tbsp cornflour
05 - ⅓ cup granulated sugar
06 - 1 pinch table salt
07 - 4 fresh egg yolks

# Instructions:

01 - Grab your saucepan and blend the cornflour with two spoonfuls of cold milk until smooth.
02 - Split the eggs and put the whites aside. Gently whip the yolks with a fork.
03 - Combine what's left of the milk, the cream, sugar, salt and vanilla in your pan. Let it come to a bubble then take it off the heat.
04 - Slowly drizzle the warm milk mix into your beaten yolks while whisking constantly.
05 - Pop it back on a gentle heat and stir for roughly two minutes until it gets nice and thick.

# Notes:

01 - Traditional vanilla sauce from Germany (Vanillesoße) goes wonderfully with any fruit-based sweet, apple strudel, or hot pudding dishes.
