Vanilla Beignets (Print Version)

# Ingredients:

01 - 2 cups regular flour
02 - 1 tablespoon rising powder
03 - 1/4 teaspoon table salt
04 - 1 tablespoon white sugar
05 - 1 large egg
06 - 1 teaspoon vanilla flavor
07 - 1/2 cup full-fat milk
08 - 2 tablespoons plain melted butter
09 - Cooking oil for deep frying
10 - Icing sugar for topping

# Instructions:

01 - Grab a big bowl and stir the flour, rising powder, salt, and sugar together until they're all mixed up.
02 - In another bowl, beat the egg, vanilla flavor, milk, and melted butter until everything looks smooth.
03 - Add your wet stuff to your dry stuff and mix until you get a nice dough. It should feel soft but not super sticky.
04 - Put enough oil in a deep pan to cover half the pastries and heat it to 175°C (350°F).
05 - Drop spoonfuls of dough into the hot oil. Let them cook for about 2-3 minutes on each side until they puff up and turn golden.
06 - Take the pastries out and put them on paper towels to soak up extra oil. Sprinkle lots of icing sugar on them while they're still hot.
07 - Eat them right away with coffee or hot chocolate for the real deal.

# Notes:

01 - Keep your oil between 170-180°C the whole time you're cooking for the best outcome.
02 - The French version of these treats are way lighter and fluffier than what you'll find in New Orleans.
