Get your oven going at 350°F (175°C). Butter up a 9×13-inch pan, then pour the melted butter into the bottom. Add the brown sugar evenly on top, and finish with an even layer of cherry pie filling.

Grab a large bowl and mix together the cake mix, eggs, oil, water, and vanilla. Stir until the batter is smooth and there aren’t any lumps.

Slowly pour the batter right over the cherry layer. Spread it out gently to make sure it’s even.

Bake for around 35-40 minutes. You’ll know it’s done when a toothpick comes out clean from the center.

Let the cake sit in the pan for about 10 minutes. Place a large serving plate on top and flip it upside down. Serve warm or let it cool to room temp before digging in.
